Rollout pace

Tesla announced free Supercharging at select locations in France and Spain from 29 July to 5 August for all EV owners, including non-Tesla vehicles, to support residents and evacuees affected by wildfires in southwestern Europe. The company's global Supercharger network now exceeds 80,000 stalls. Nine French sites are participating in the relief programme, with additional Spanish locations also included.

Why it matters: The move demonstrates how large charging networks can serve as emergency infrastructure during crises, reinforcing the operational resilience argument for public and fleet procurement. Tesla's ability to rapidly open third-party access across multiple sites highlights network interoperability capabilities that matter to CPOs planning disaster response protocols.
