IONITY has signed a corporate power purchase agreement with Pinergy to supply renewable electricity from Lirion Power's wind farm in Laois to its Irish charging network. The deal will deliver around 6 million kWh of renewable electricity annually to power 48 ultra-fast charging points at seven locations on Ireland's national road network.
Why it matters: The agreement demonstrates how CPOs can secure dedicated renewable energy supply through corporate PPAs, potentially reducing operational costs and strengthening sustainability credentials for public procurement bids. Direct wind farm sourcing for a defined charging network offers a replicable model for operators seeking to decarbonise their electricity supply.
