Zero Carbon Charge (CHARGE) is upgrading both its solar-powered charging hubs on South Africa's N3 corridor, increasing total capacity per site from 360 kW to 720 kW, solar generation from 280 kWp to 470 kWp, and battery storage from 645 kWh to 1.4 MWh. The expansion, announced in September 2026 and driven by demand since the May launch, will enable the two hubs to generate approximately 1.6 GWh of renewable energy annually and support 800-volt vehicles and future megawatt-level charging.
