A new electric vehicle charging station has opened at 1505 West Broadway in Mayfield, Kentucky, featuring four ports each capable of charging up to 400 kilowatts. Francis Energy developed the site with $875,000 in federal funds through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure programme administered by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Governor Andy Beshear announced that 17 fast charging stations are now operational statewide, with 11 under construction and a fourth request for proposals recently closed.

Why it matters: The project demonstrates continued NEVI programme deployment in Kentucky, with Francis Energy securing substantial federal funding for high power infrastructure. The state's pipeline of 28 sites operational or under construction signals sustained procurement opportunities for contractors and equipment suppliers in the region.

EVgo and Brixmor Property Group have expanded their partnership, first established in 2016, to install more than 500 new DC fast charging stalls across at least 90 Brixmor shopping centres in the United States. Once complete, over 25 per cent of Brixmor shopping centres will host EVgo fast chargers, adding to EVgo's existing network of over 5,200 chargers at more than 1,200 locations.
