Walnut Creek City Council has backed a draft Electric Vehicle Strategic Plan that will electrify at least 66 of the city's 175 assessed fleet vehicles to comply with California's Advanced Clean Fleets policy, alongside investment in public charging infrastructure. The plan supports the city's 2023 Sustainability Action Plan goal of net zero emissions by 2045, addressing the fact that 60% of local greenhouse gas emissions come from transportation. Councilmember Craig DeVinney endorsed the vision at a recent council meeting.

The initiative aims to expand public charging access and reduce barriers to EV ownership across New York.
