VETC, a Tasco subsidiary, connected more than 350 EV charging points to its platform within one month of launching its VETC Charging Station feature in mid June, covering around 50% of Vietnam's multi-brand charging network. The service integrates charging location, navigation, payment and invoicing into VETC's existing electronic toll collection app, removing the need for multiple accounts across different networks. VETC reported that integrated charging networks have seen significant increases in charging sessions since the launch.
Why it matters: The rapid aggregation of half Vietnam's multi-brand chargers onto a single payment platform demonstrates strong demand for interoperability and signals that open-access models can drive higher utilisation rates. For CPOs and site hosts, integration with widely adopted payment platforms like VETC may become a competitive requirement to capture long-distance EV traffic.
