Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with electric vehicle leasing platform DRIVN to explore opportunities to strengthen charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles, including buses and trucks, across India. Under the MoU, the companies will evaluate integrating Jio-bp's charging network with DRIVN's leasing platform, explore preferential charging tariffs and assess turnkey EV charging projects across selected cities and highways. Jio-bp operates the Jio-bp pulse EV charging network, with a focus on fast charging infrastructure across priority pan-India corridors and locations, including for electric buses and trucks.
Why it matters: The partnership signals potential new commercial fleet charging projects across Indian cities and highways, creating procurement opportunities for turnkey infrastructure and integrated charging solutions tailored to bus and truck routes. For CPOs, the collaboration between a major fuel retailer's charging arm and a leasing platform points to growing demand for commercial vehicle charging infrastructure aligned with operational patterns and preferential tariff structures.
