Summit Charging has confirmed BTC Power as a technology partner for its growing US DC fast-charging network, including projects awarded National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) programme funding. The California-based manufacturer, which has deployed more than 25,000 charging systems over 26 years, is working with Summit on technical specifications, Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance documentation, and site economics. Summit currently holds NEVI grant awards for eight sites across Washington, D.C., Texas and California, representing 40 DC fast chargers and 56 charging ports, while simultaneously developing four self-funded California sites with 42 chargers and 54 ports and planning five further sites in New York and Pennsylvania with 25 chargers and 25 ports.
Why it matters: The partnership demonstrates how NEVI funding is driving hardware procurement from domestic manufacturers that meet BABA requirements, with Summit's pipeline totalling 107 chargers and 135 ports across 17 sites.
