Rollout pace

China's total EV charging infrastructure reached 23.68 million points by the end of July 2026, a 41.9 percent increase year on year, according to the National Energy Administration. Public charging facilities numbered 5.099 million (up 21.3 percent), while private installations totalled 18.58 million (up 48.8 percent). The expansion supports a market in which new energy vehicle sales exceeded 60 percent of all new car sales in July 2026, with monthly NEV output and sales reaching 1.57 million and 1.56 million units respectively.

Why it matters: The figures confirm China's three year action plan, announced in October 2025, is on track to deliver 28 million charging facilities and 300 million kilowatts of public capacity by end 2027. Procurement teams and CPOs serving Asian or global fleets can benchmark rollout velocity and the public to private infrastructure ratio as NEV penetration crosses 60 percent.
