Magna Park Lutterworth to open 32-charger electric HGV hub in September 2026
Guardian Smart Infrastructure Management and Keoma Hubs will build and operate a new electric truck charging facility at Magna Park in Lutterworth, with operations starting in September 2026. Phase 1 will install 32 MCS-ready chargers delivering up to 400 kW per point across 179 HGV bays designed for articulated vehicles, with TAPA 2 security certification. The site will use Bosch Road Services booking systems and automated hospitality from BK World, serving the 13 million square foot logistics park managed by Marq Logistics.
Why it matters
The project signals a major private-sector commitment to HGV charging infrastructure at a strategic UK logistics hub, with a clear delivery timeline and named technology partners. Procurement teams and CPOs can track this as a reference for MCS-ready depot charging at scale, including security standards and integrated digital operations.
Arnold Clark installs six 150 kW chargers at Newcastle BYD dealership with 55p per kWh pricing
UK car dealer Arnold Clark has deployed six ultra-rapid chargers offering speeds up to 150 kW at its BYD branch on Scotswood Road, Newcastle, open to all drivers. The site charges 55p per kWh, below the UK average of 76p per kWh, with payment via the Arnold Clark app, roaming partners or contactless at the chargepoint. Arnold Clark now operates 50 charging sites nationwide and won the Up and Coming Rapid or Ultra-rapid EV Charging Network award at the 2025 Zapmap Awards.
Why it matters
The rollout shows a franchised dealer expanding its public charging footprint with competitive pricing and multi-payment acceptance, a model that blends retail property with charge point operation. Procurement teams and site hosts will note the 150 kW specification and sub-market tariff as benchmarks for dealership-based infrastructure.
