Arnold Clark Charge, which operates over 400 chargers at 60 locations across the UK (most offering 150 kW speeds), has partnered with fueling network Radius to give its 500,000 subscribers access to the charging network. The deal extends Arnold Clark Charge's reach to more fleet operators and EV drivers, according to Pablo Levi, Group Sustainability Manager at Arnold Clark. Nearly half (48%) of electric vehicle drivers in the UK have skipped domestic holiday destinations because of concerns about charging availability, according to research by Compare the Market. One in four drivers (24%) always check charging availability before setting off, and 31% cite availability as their biggest concern when travelling in an EV. While public charging has grown by an average of 552% in seaside towns and 640% in National Parks since 2021, only 4% of holiday lets in leading coastal destinations offer dedicated EV charging, though campsites are twice as likely (8%) to provide on-site facilities.

The network includes chargers ranging from 7.4kW fast units to 240kW ultra-rapid chargers, deployed in city centre sites, residential areas, country parks and leisure centres across communities including Chirk, Overton, Holt, Rossett and Ruabon. Future plans focus on improving access for residents without off-street parking.
