EVgo partners with Tesla to deploy V4 Superchargers across major US cities

EVgo, which operates around 1,200 fast charging stations in 47 states, will roll out Tesla V4 Superchargers at sites in major cities across the United States, with deployments beginning later in 2026. The stations will be EVgo owned and branded but operated and maintained by Tesla, featuring charging speeds up to 500 kW, Magic Dock technology for both CCS and NACS vehicles, and longer cables for non-Tesla EVs. The partnership aims to expand fast charging access and bring more NACS drivers onto the EVgo network.

Why it matters

The deal marks a significant infrastructure model where a major CPO outsources operations to Tesla while retaining ownership, potentially reshaping procurement strategies for networks seeking premium reliability and NACS compatibility. For contractors and suppliers, the rollout signals new site development opportunities under a hybrid ownership structure in high demand urban markets.
