Aberdeen Rapid Transit unveils demonstration electric bus for public viewing ahead of outline business case

Nestrans has displayed a full-size electric demonstration vehicle, loaned by Irizar e-mobility, in Aberdeen's Broad Street as part of an eight-day public engagement exercise for the Aberdeen Rapid Transit (ART) project. The zero-emission mass transport scheme, funded by the Aberdeen City Region Deal, proposes two routes connecting Portlethen to P&J Live and the airport, and Westhill to Blackdog, with an Outline Business Case currently in development. The tram-style buses, similar to Belfast Glider vehicles, aim to improve regional connectivity and support net zero targets.
