Altas Auto hits 10,000 vehicle production milestone with electric Mercedes eSprinter for Norway

By Eve

Lithuanian minibus and midibus manufacturer Altas Auto has produced its 10,000th vehicle since 2002, an electric Mercedes eSprinter with Altas Auto Ecoline body delivered to a Norwegian customer in mid-October 2026. The company operates an annual production capacity of approximately 800 buses, with vehicles now running in more than 30 countries. The milestone precedes Altas Auto's 25th anniversary in 2027 and follows a 2025 management transition when founder Edvardas Radzevičius stepped down as CEO after 23 years, succeeded by Ignas Pranskevičius.

Why it matters

The production milestone signals sustained manufacturing scale in the electric minibus and midibus segment, relevant for fleet operators and public transport authorities procuring zero emission vehicles across Europe. Altas Auto's 800 unit annual capacity and presence in over 30 countries positions it as a potential supplier for CPOs and fleet customers seeking electric commercial vehicle conversions.

Mercedes GLC 400 EV achieves 392 miles in real world test, 18% above EPA estimate

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4Matic EV recorded 392 miles in Edmunds' real world range test, exceeding its 331 mile EPA estimate by 61 miles or 18%. The vehicle consumed 28.4 kWh per 100 miles, 14% less than the EPA's official 33 kWh per 100 miles figure. The GLC outperformed rivals including the 2027 Volvo EX60 P10 AWD at 352 miles, 2025 Cadillac Optiq at 339 miles, and 2027 Audi Q6 E-Tron Prestige at 337 miles in the same test.

Why it matters

Extended real world range reduces charging frequency demands on public networks and workplace infrastructure, potentially lowering utilisation pressure at high traffic sites. Fleet operators and charge point planners may need to adjust deployment strategies as newer EVs require fewer top up sessions per vehicle per week.

Youdha launches ePod G electric three-wheeler with 545 kg payload for last-mile cargo

Indian electric commercial vehicle maker Youdha has launched the ePod G, a cargo variant of its three-wheeler platform, featuring an 11.8 kWh LFP battery, 6 kW motor, 545 kg payload capacity, and 170 to 180 km range. The vehicle charges in four to five hours and will be offered in half-deck and four closed box configurations. The launch follows the rollout of Youdha's passenger three-wheeler and targets last-mile delivery operators.

Why it matters

The ePod G adds a commercial cargo option to India's growing electric three-wheeler segment, creating potential charging demand from fleet operators and last-mile logistics providers. Its four to five hour charge time and sub-50 kmph speed profile suggest suitability for depot-based AC charging rather than en-route fast charging infrastructure.

Used EV and hybrid prices rise to £14,299 as average age falls to 4.7 years

Average used electric and hybrid vehicle prices climbed to £14,299 in September, marking a second consecutive monthly increase, according to Dealer Auction's EV Performance Review. The rise was driven by younger, lower mileage stock entering the market, with average age dropping to 4.7 years and mileage falling to 38,100 miles, 44% lower than July's peak. Bids received increased by 7.6%, approaching the record set in March, while used EVs and hybrids accounted for 10% of all used car sales in September.

Why it matters

The influx of younger used EVs signals stronger residual values and growing market maturity, which could ease fleet operators' total cost of ownership concerns and support business case confidence for charging infrastructure investments. Rising used EV market share also expands the addressable customer base for home and workplace charging providers beyond new vehicle buyers.
