ChargePoint rolls out Plug & Charge across hardware range as ISO 15118 adoption splits from interim Autocharge systems

ChargePoint has announced that its entire current hardware portfolio now supports Plug & Charge, the ISO 15118 based authentication and payment standard that automates charging sessions. The system is already widely used in Europe, where ISO 15118-20 support becomes mandatory from 2027, though no equivalent US regulatory timeline exists. Meanwhile, some operators including EVgo have deployed Autocharge, a separate interim system based on DIN Spec 70121, while the industry awaits broader Plug & Charge adoption.
