BYD to install 100 Flash Charging stations across Europe by end of 2026, delivering 1,500 kW peak power
By Eve
BYD confirmed at the Paris Motor Show in October that it will deploy 100 Flash Charging stations in Europe by the end of 2026. The second generation chargers deliver a maximum of 1,500 kW, enabling compatible vehicles with Blade 2.0 batteries to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and reach 97% in 9 minutes. On a 115 kWh battery, the 10% to 70% charge represents approximately 69 kWh at an average power of around 830 kW over the 5 minute period, meaning the charger does not operate continuously at peak capacity.
Why it matters
The rollout marks the arrival of ultra high power charging infrastructure in Europe, significantly exceeding the 150 kW to 400 kW range typical of current rapid chargers in France. CPOs and site hosts will need to assess grid capacity and business case viability for 1,500 kW installations, though initial deployment is limited to 100 sites and requires specific vehicle compatibility.

Kia EV6 GT tops Tesla Model Y Performance in German magazine comparison test
The Kia EV6 GT scored 585 points to win a five vehicle comparison test by German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, finishing 9 points ahead of the Tesla Model Y Performance (576 points) and ahead of the Zeekr 7GT, Polestar 4 and BYD Sealion 7. The test evaluated vehicles across seven categories including body, safety, comfort, powertrain, driving performance, environmental friendliness and running costs. Kia's 650 horsepower dual motor model led in three categories: safety, powertrain and driving performance, where it scored 96 points against Tesla's 76.
Why it matters
The result signals competitive pressure on Tesla's premium EV positioning in Europe's largest market, while highlighting performance credentials that may influence fleet and workplace charging specifications for high end electric vehicles. The test outcome could affect procurement decisions where driving dynamics and safety ratings weigh alongside charging infrastructure compatibility.
Servotech launches 360 kW Dynamix360 and dual gun Nexus120 fast chargers with advertising displays at REI Expo
Servotech Renewable Power System Limited unveiled two commercial fast chargers at the Renewable Energy India Expo 2026. The Dynamix360 is a 360 kW split type DC fast charger with a central power stack serving up to four dispensers, each with a 15 inch touchscreen and IP65 rating. The Nexus120 is a dual gun smart charger with a 43 inch LED display and IP55 rating. Both models feature integrated digital displays designed for advertising in commercial locations such as business parks and shopping malls.
Why it matters
The addition of advertising displays to high power chargers creates a new revenue stream for CPOs deploying in high footfall commercial sites, potentially improving project economics. The Dynamix360's power sharing architecture across four dispensers offers flexible capacity deployment for operators planning large commercial installations.
Cyprus to deploy 94 fast chargers across 13 sites by 2028 under €10m programme
Cyprus's Transport Ministry will install 94 fast charging points by 2028 at an estimated cost of €10 million, covering the entire road network. The rollout includes 76 points for light vehicles (150 kW each) and 18 for heavy vehicles (12 at 350 kW, six at 200 kW), spread across 13 sites including Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and ten other locations. Minister Evanthia Tsolaki confirmed 16 light vehicle points are scheduled for 2026, 48 light and 12 heavy points in 2027, with the remainder in 2028, adding to the existing 384 publicly accessible points at 221 stations nationwide.
Why it matters
The phased procurement offers equipment suppliers and installers a clear pipeline through 2028, with budget already secured for 2026 and 2027 phases via the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. The mix of 150 kW, 200 kW and 350 kW chargers signals demand for both light and heavy duty hardware, while the island wide site selection may favour bidders with logistics reach beyond the three main urban centres.
