California commits $55.2 million to add hundreds of public DC fast chargers

The California Energy Commission has allocated $55.2 million through the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP) to expand public DC fast charging infrastructure. The funding will be distributed via two upcoming incentive windows and is expected to deliver hundreds of new DC fast chargers across the state. California already leads the US with over 18,100 publicly available DC fast charging ports, according to the Alternative Fuels Data Center.
