Chandigarh wins Most EV-Ready City award for policy and infrastructure leadership

By Eve

The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST) received the Most EV-Ready City – Policy & Infrastructure Leadership Award at the second National Mobility Awards Summit 2026 in Hyderabad. The award, presented by the Telangana Transport Department Commissioner, recognises Chandigarh's policy frameworks, incentive structures and charging infrastructure development. CREST previously won the Gold Award for Best Union Territory for EV at the Motoring World Green Mobility Awards 2025.

Why it matters: The recognition highlights Chandigarh as a model for EV-ready infrastructure and policy design, offering procurement teams and charge-point operators a reference case for integrated urban EV ecosystems. CREST's approach to incentive structures and charging network rollout may inform tender design and public-private partnership frameworks in other Indian cities.
