ChargeZone and Fresh Bus expand partnership to 500 electric buses with 40 MW charging infrastructure

ChargeZone and Fresh Bus announced an expansion adding 400 electric buses to their partnership, growing the supported fleet from 100 to 500 buses. ChargeZone will deploy an additional 30 MW of charging capacity on top of the existing 10 MW, bringing total dedicated infrastructure to 40 MW across 20 cities and 17 towns in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next 15 months. At full scale, the partnership is expected to deliver 100 million units of energy annually, support more than 20,000 passenger journeys daily and reduce CO₂ emissions by around 9,000 to 10,000 tonnes per year.

Why it matters: The 30 MW capacity addition forms part of ChargeZone's wider 200 MW national rollout and demonstrates a replicable model for intercity fleet charging at scale.
