Connecticut selects AmpUp to scale managed EV charging programme statewide

The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority has chosen AmpUp to develop a statewide managed charging programme with the state's electric utilities, following evaluation of four pilots under the Innovative Energy Solutions Programme. AmpUp's 18 month pilot with Eversource Energy enrolled more than 1,000 charging ports at 200 locations across 8 commercial customer segments, delivering incentives through wallet credits in exchange for brief charging pauses during peak demand periods. PURA has invited AmpUp and Connecticut utilities to jointly propose a statewide programme design for public and shared EV chargers.
Why it matters: The selection signals a shift towards utility managed charging at public infrastructure, creating new procurement requirements for software platforms that can coordinate demand response across commercial charging networks without additional hardware.
