India's 594 kilometre Ganga Expressway to feature EV charging network and dark fibre backbone

The Ganga Expressway, a six lane greenfield corridor connecting Meerut to Prayagraj across 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh, will include an electric vehicle charging network at major locations along its 594 kilometre route. Delivered in three years and three months under a Build Operate Transfer model with a 30 year concession period, the project cost exceeds ₹36,000 crore and has been developed by Adani Road Transport Ltd (464 kilometres) and IRB Infrastructure (130 kilometres). The expressway also features a dark fibre network for data transmission and 24 hour CCTV surveillance, serving a region of nearly 8 crore people.
