Delhi adds 50 electric buses and launches interstate e-bus service to Rewari

By Eve

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off 50 new electric buses in Delhi on 3 September 2026, including the launch of an interstate e-bus service between Delhi and Rewari in Haryana's NCR belt. The rollout is part of a wider push to decarbonise Delhi's public transport, and the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Tehkhand automated vehicle testing centre and opened public EV charging stations at Hasanpur and Ghazipur.

Why it matters: The 50 bus deployment and new interstate route signal growing fleet electrification in India's capital region, creating sustained demand for depot and public charging infrastructure. The simultaneous opening of two public charging sites and a testing facility points to coordinated procurement across vehicles, charging hardware and grid capacity in the NCR.
