Driventic launches VEDS 2.2 electric drive system for commercial vehicles

Driventic has launched the VEDS 2.2, a 275 kg integrated electric drive system for medium to heavy duty commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses and coaches. The system combines a high speed EVO 390 motor, inverter and single stage planetary gear unit into one unit, designed for both new builds and retrofit projects. The drive unit is compatible with existing diesel vehicle rear axles without modification, reducing retrofit investment requirements.
Why it matters: The system's compatibility with conventional axles and simplified integration interfaces lower the technical and capital barriers for fleet operators and OEMs pursuing commercial vehicle electrification or retrofit programmes. Its IP6K9K rating and compact design address durability and space constraints in heavy duty applications.
