Duracell commits £200 million to build nationwide ultra-fast EV charging network in UK

Duracell is investing £200 million over the next decade to develop a nationwide network of ultra-fast EV charging stations in the UK, branded Duracell E-Charge. The network will be operated by new charge point operator Elektra Charge and developed by the EV Network (EVN), with sites offering chargers up to 1,000 kW. The first six sites will launch later this year, with rapid expansion planned throughout 2026 and beyond, targeting motorways, retail and hospitality venues, and city gateways.
Why it matters: This major infrastructure investment creates significant procurement opportunities across site development, hardware supply, and installation services, with EVN already delivering some of the UK's biggest charging hubs.
