National Trust and RAW Charging add EV chargers at three Devon sites with 90 more bays planned UK-wide

By Eve

Conservation charity National Trust and CPO RAW Charging have installed EV chargers at three Devon locations: Castle Drogo (eight fast-charging bays), Parke (two 50kW DC rapid and two 22kW AC chargers), and Lydford Gorge (two 50kW DC rapid and two 22kW AC chargers). More than 90 additional fast-charging bays are scheduled for National Trust sites across the UK in the coming weeks, including Lacock Abbey, Felbrigg Hall, Croome Court, and Hidcote. The rollout arrives ahead of the school holidays, when visitor numbers peak.

Why it matters: The partnership demonstrates how heritage and leisure destinations are becoming anchor sites for charging infrastructure, with accessible design and mixed-speed offerings (22kW AC for longer visits, 50kW DC for shorter stays) tailored to visitor dwell times. The 90-bay pipeline signals continued procurement opportunities for CPOs targeting high-footfall, publicly accessible locations.
