Geely developing 1800 kW electric chargers for potential UK rollout

Geely is developing ultra-fast charging stations rated at 1800 kW, using on-site batteries to deliver the power, according to Geely UK chief Michael Yang speaking at the EX2 launch. The system would exceed BYD's Flash Charging network, which maxes out at 1500 kW and can charge compatible vehicles from 10 to 70 per cent in five minutes. BYD plans 20,000 Flash Charging sites in China and 3000 across Europe this year, while Geely has indicated it will work with charging partners to roll out ultra-fast chargers in the UK, though no timeline was given.
