Greater Manchester plans 200 bus depot in Stockport for 2029 opening

Transport for Greater Manchester has unveiled plans for a purpose built electric bus depot on Heathside Park Road in Stockport, designed to house around 200 electric buses with charging infrastructure and maintenance facilities. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the depot operational by late 2029, replacing the existing Daw Bank site. The announcement follows confirmation of 125 additional electric Bee Network buses last month, part of Greater Manchester's target to achieve a fully electric fleet by 2030.
