GRIDSERVE opens fifth Electric Forecourt at M1 Junction 29A with 39 ultra-rapid bays up to 400kW
By Eve
GRIDSERVE has launched its most advanced Electric Forecourt at Markham Vale near Junction 29A of the M1, featuring 39 ultra-rapid charging bays equipped with ABB hardware capable of delivering up to 400kW. The site includes 36 bays for passenger EVs, three drive-through bays for larger vehicles such as electric trucks and coaches, and three accessible bays, with compatible next-generation vehicles able to add more than 200 miles of range in under 10 minutes. This is GRIDSERVE's fifth Electric Forecourt and is described as one of Europe's most powerful public charging facilities.
Why it matters: The deployment of 39 high-power chargers at a strategic M1 location signals continued investment in ultra-rapid infrastructure to serve both private and commercial fleets. Procurement teams and CPOs will note the use of ABB's latest 400kW hardware and the site's capacity to accommodate HGVs and coaches, reflecting growing demand for depot-scale public charging.
