Maharashtra housing federation proposes EV charging norms in revised cooperative society by-laws

The Maharashtra Housing Federation has submitted proposals to include electric vehicle charging norms in the state's revised model cooperative housing society by-laws, expected to be finalised by the end of this month. The recommendations were presented to cooperation commissioner Deepak Taware during a meeting in Mumbai on Friday, alongside proposals for self-redevelopment frameworks and digital governance. The revised by-laws will be framed in line with the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Rules, 2026.
Why it matters: If adopted, the by-laws would mandate EV charging infrastructure across cooperative housing societies in Maharashtra, creating a structured procurement pipeline for charge point operators and installers serving residential developments.
