Delhi adds 150 electric buses and five charging stations, bringing fleet to 5,238 EVs
By Eve
The Delhi Government has dedicated 150 new electric buses and inaugurated five public EV charging stations at Swami Vivekanand ISBT Anand Vihar and four DTC depots (Nand Nagri, Rohini Sector 37, Nangloi and Keshopur). The additions bring Delhi's electric bus fleet to 5,238 within a total fleet of approximately 6,988 buses, including 1,750 CNG buses. Under a structured fleet augmentation programme, Delhi's total bus fleet is projected to expand to nearly 14,000 buses by FY 2028 to 29.
Why it matters
Delhi's rollout of 150 buses and five charging hubs underscores India's largest municipal EV bus deployment, signalling sustained procurement demand for depot charging infrastructure and low floor AC electric buses. The target of 14,000 buses by FY 2028 to 29 points to multi year contracts for charge point operators and bus OEMs serving public transport fleets.

Seattle opens applications for 200 curbside Level 2 chargers targeting apartment areas by 2030
Seattle City Light is accepting resident applications for up to 200 new curbside Level 2 EV chargers to be installed from fall 2027 through 2030, prioritising multifamily housing areas with limited existing charging. The city will review applications and select locations in batches of 40 to 50 sites, with design and permitting starting spring 2027 and each site requiring approximately two weeks of construction. Seattle already operates 58 chargers from an earlier pilot programme.
Why it matters
The resident led application process and phased procurement model offers a replicable framework for cities targeting underserved multifamily housing, with clear timelines for design, permitting and installation that CPOs and contractors can plan around. The batch selection approach creates predictable tender windows for equipment suppliers and installation firms through to 2030.
