InstaVolt sells Spanish and Portuguese networks to Powerdot, refocuses on UK and Ireland expansion

By Eve

InstaVolt has sold its Iberian charging operations to Powerdot, including all network assets and staff in Spain and Portugal, to concentrate investment on its UK and Ireland markets. The deal follows InstaVolt's £250 million debt refinancing, £40 million equity raise and recent acquisition of GeniePoint's 228 locations with over 260 devices. InstaVolt now operates more than 4,250 chargers across over 1,200 sites, positioning itself as the UK's leading ultra rapid network.

Why it matters: The divestment signals a strategic pivot by a major CPO to consolidate capital in its home market after testing international expansion, and highlights Powerdot's appetite for acquiring established networks in Southern Europe. For UK and Irish procurement teams, InstaVolt's renewed focus and recent GeniePoint integration may accelerate site rollout and create fresh partnership opportunities in the ultra rapid segment.
