Hanoi identifies 40 parking sites and 180 battery swap locations in integrated EV charging plan

Vietnamese-German University expert Vu Anh Tuan has called for EV charging networks to be integrated into urban planning, linking transport, land use and power supply. In Hanoi, the municipal People's Committee has identified 180 locations for battery swapping cabinets across the Ring Road No. 1 area under Plan No. 215/KH-UBND, with 77 in the core wards of Hoan Kiem and Cua Nam. Hanoi Parking Co., Ltd. has also reviewed 150 parking sites and identified around 40 suitable for charging stations.
Why it matters: The integrated approach links charging infrastructure directly with existing parking facilities and traffic planning, offering procurement teams a replicable model for urban rollouts. Battery swapping cabinet deployment in high density residential areas addresses home charging barriers and may influence CPO site selection strategies in similar Asian markets.
