Mahindra and HPCL to deploy EV charging network across 24,400 fuel stations in India

Charge_iN by Mahindra has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to install EV charging infrastructure across HPCL's network of more than 24,400 fuel stations in India. The collaboration will deploy 180 kW dual gun chargers, building on HPCL's existing base of over 5,400 charging points under its HP e-Charge brand. The partnership aims to accelerate public charging rollout by leveraging existing fuel station locations along key transport corridors and in urban areas.
Why it matters: The deal represents one of India's largest charging infrastructure commitments by station count, offering CPOs a blueprint for scaling deployment through partnerships with established fuel retail networks. Access to HPCL's 24,400 site footprint could significantly compress rollout timelines and reduce site acquisition costs compared to greenfield development.
