Mitsubishi Fuso and Foxconn to launch 50-50 bus joint venture on 2 November
By Eve
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation and Foxconn have announced their new bus manufacturing joint venture, Fuso Bus, will begin operations on 2 November 2026, subject to transaction closing. The venture will be owned equally at 50% each, with headquarters in Kawasaki, Japan, and production at the existing Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing facility in Toyama. Fuso Bus will develop, manufacture, sell and provide after-sales services for both internal combustion engine and zero-emission buses for domestic and international markets, with Katsuto Kora designated as Representative Director and CEO and Junichi Yamamoto as CFO.
Why it matters
The joint venture signals a major manufacturing partnership between an established commercial vehicle maker and a global electronics manufacturer entering the zero-emission bus market, potentially expanding production capacity and technology integration for electric bus fleets. For procurement teams and operators, this could mean new supply chain options and competitive pricing in both domestic Japanese and international bus markets from November 2026.

Jakson Green E-Mobility wins 220 electric bus contract across three Gujarat cities
Jakson Green E-Mobility has secured a tender from Convergence Energy Services to deploy 220 electric buses in Gujarat under the PM-eBus Sewa Programme. The 12 year Gross Cost Contract covers 120 buses in Vadodara, 80 in Gandhidham and 20 in Navsari, with the company responsible for procurement, operation, maintenance and charging infrastructure development. This marks the firm's first major public transport fleet win within its first year of e-mobility operations.
Why it matters
