Voltpost to deploy lamppost EV chargers in California, New York and Connecticut after Washington DC grant

By Eve

New York City based Voltpost announced it will expand lamppost EV charging installations into California, Connecticut and New York this year, partnering with Los Angeles firm InCharge Energy for deployment and real time monitoring. In April, Voltpost secured part of a nearly 610,000 dollar grant from the Department of Energy and Environment of the District of Columbia to retrofit up to 16 utility poles in Washington DC. The company retrofits existing utility poles to provide curbside charging for EV owners without off street parking.

Why it matters: Lamppost charging addresses a key infrastructure gap for urban EV adoption where residents lack private parking, creating procurement opportunities for municipalities seeking cost effective solutions using existing street furniture. The DC grant model and multi state expansion signal growing public sector appetite for curbside charging tenders.
