ChargeZone opens 720 kW charging hub on Mumbai to Pune expressway

By Eve

ChargeZone and Tata.ev have opened a 720 kW charging facility at Khalapur rest halt on the Mumbai to Pune expressway, featuring 5 dispensers with dual charge guns delivering 240 kW in normal mode and up to 360 kW in boost mode. The site can serve up to 10 vehicles simultaneously and is the 75th installation under the partnership. ChargeZone's CEO described highway charging as the backbone of intercity electrification in India.

Why it matters: The 720 kW capacity sets a new benchmark for public charging infrastructure in India and signals accelerating deployment along strategic national corridors. Procurement teams should note the dual mode power delivery and the partnership model between OEM and CPO for highway rollouts.
