Spiro commits $215m to battery recycling in Nigeria, eyes local lithium for supply chain

Spiro, Africa's largest electric mobility company, has announced a $215m investment in battery recycling infrastructure in Nigeria, where it has already deployed over 100,000 electric motorbikes and 2,500 battery swapping stations across seven markets. Chief Executive Officer of Mobility Kaushik Burman confirmed the firm operates local assembly and recycling facilities in Nigeria and is exploring the use of the country's lithium deposits to build a domestic battery supply chain. The company has completed more than 30 million battery swaps to date.
