Stellantis plans to move many European electric models to LFP batteries in 2027, with no price cuts announced

By Eve

According to Numerama, in an article published on 30 October 2026, Stellantis chief executive Antonio Filosa said at the 28 October results presentation that many European electric models would switch to LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries in 2027. No full model list, brand breakdown or French dealer timing was given, and Frandroid's 2 November report simply relays Numerama. Stellantis's financial release confirms the results date but does not reproduce the LFP statement, and no priced reduction has been announced.

Why it matters

A wider shift to LFP could lower vehicle costs and change the charging profile of future Stellantis fleets, which matters for fleet and CPO planning. With the claim resting on a single report and no models, prices or dates confirmed, procurement teams should treat it as a signal to monitor rather than a basis for commitments.

Leapmotor reports record global deliveries of 106,127 in October, with 1,390 registrations in France

In a release dated 2 November, Leapmotor announced 106,127 global deliveries for October, a brand record and a rise of 51% year on year. The same text gives 1,390 registrations in France for the month. The two figures measure different things: deliveries cover a vehicle handed to a customer or a network across all markets, while registrations are an administrative record, and the release does not isolate France's share of the global total.

Why it matters

Global delivery growth should not be read as market presence in France, where the 1,390 registrations are the more relevant indicator for charging demand. For CPOs and procurement teams, the brand's French fleet growth is better tracked through registration data than through headline global totals.

Leapmotor B10 built in Zaragoza gets French ecoscore, Life Pro priced from €25,750

Leapmotor announced on 23 October 2026 that the B10 produced in Zaragoza has obtained the French ecoscore, as reported by Journal de l'Automobile on 26 October. The electric B10 Life Pro is advertised from €25,750 as a "public price" with a €3,650 CEE bonus already included, or a lease at €280 a month over 48 months and 40,000 km with the same bonus. Orders are open, though the release does not state whether figures are inclusive of VAT or exclusive, nor any first rental, purchase option, stock or delivery date.

Why it matters

A Stellantis-distributed Chinese compact SUV priced this sharply, and made in Spain, adds pressure on French fleet and private electric vehicle pricing, which shapes charger demand and user profiles for CPOs. Buyers and fleet managers should verify the incentive on the exact version ordered, as the headline price and monthly rental are not a total cost.

Vauxhall passes 100,000 UK battery electric vehicle sales

Vauxhall has sold 102,852 electric vehicles in the UK as of October 2026, with the 100,000th sale a Grandland Electric 213PS Ultimate delivered by Drive Vauxhall Nuneaton. The brand reached 10,000 EV sales in 2021 and 50,000 in 2023, a tenfold rise in customer demand, and the Mokka Electric (more than 26,000 sales) and Corsa Electric (more than 23,000) lead its range of eight electric models. The figures come from Vauxhall's milestone announcement, which also cites its 2023 Electric Streets of Britain campaign inviting drivers to register the need for on-street charging.

Why it matters

A mass-market brand with over 100,000 UK EVs on the road points to a growing base of drivers, many in mainstream segments, who will need public and on-street charging. For CPOs and local authority procurement teams, the Electric Streets of Britain campaign is a signal of registered demand for on-street provision.
