Punjab State Electricity Board tenders 500 MW standalone battery storage across two substations

Punjab State Electricity Board has released a tariff-based competitive tender for 500 MW / 1,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems to be built and operated by developers for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. The scope requires developers to fund all infrastructure from site to interconnection at two 220 kilovolt substations, including new bays, transmission lines and protection systems. The tender is technology agnostic, permitting any battery storage technology that meets performance requirements.
