Skoda confirms Peaq name for seven seat flagship EV launching late 2026

Skoda has named its upcoming seven seat electric SUV the Peaq, set for global debut in summer 2026 and launch in late 2026 or early 2027. The model, based on the 2022 Vision 7S concept, will be Skoda's largest and most expensive car to date, competing with the £48,500 Peugeot E-5008, £50,000 Mercedes GLB, and higher priced models like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. The Peaq adopts Skoda's Modern Solid design language already seen in the Elroq and updated Enyaq.
Why it matters: A new flagship seven seater from a volume brand expands the addressable market for destination and fleet charging infrastructure, particularly at family oriented sites and commercial depots. The late 2026 to early 2027 timeline gives charge point operators roughly 18 to 24 months to plan capacity upgrades for larger battery EVs in the £48,500 to £60,000 segment.
