Tesla opens Giga Berlin battery line to startups in Cell Giga Challenge for 4680 production scale-up

Tesla has launched the Cell Giga Challenge, inviting startups to pilot technologies inside its live 4680 battery cell production line at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg as the site ramps toward 18 GWh of annual capacity. Run with JUNI, a Berlin-Brandenburg startup platform backed by Germany's federal economics ministry, the program seeks solutions across materials, equipment, operations, automation and artificial intelligence, with applications open until 24 July 2026 and pilots starting in August 2026. Successful teams can secure paid pilot projects with Tesla's cell team in Grünheide.
