Tesla files for Megacharger projects in San Antonio, Laredo and Houston to support Semi freight operations

Tesla has submitted project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Megacharger installations in three major freight hubs. The San Antonio site on Foster Road carries an estimated cost of 400,000 dollars with construction scheduled from May 2026 to May 2027, while the Laredo project is budgeted at 100,000 dollars for completion by December 2026. A third Houston Megacharger project was registered in May 2026, all targeting electrical infrastructure to support Tesla Semi charging along key commercial transportation routes including the US to Mexico border crossing at Laredo.
