UAE opens 60 point ultra-fast charging hub, sixth largest globally, with 20 highway sites planned by 2027

ADNOC Distribution has inaugurated a 60 point ultra-fast EV charging hub at Saih Shuaib on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, capable of charging most EVs from 0 to 80 per cent in approximately 20 minutes. The site is the sixth largest superfast EV charging hub in the world and the largest in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. ADNOC Distribution plans to open 20 EV charging hubs by the end of 2027, with 15 expected by the end of 2026, covering all core UAE national highways.
Why it matters: The 60 point mega hub and 20 site highway rollout represent significant procurement opportunities for ultra-fast charging equipment suppliers and EPC contractors in the Gulf region. The accelerated timeline to 2027 signals urgent demand for turnkey charging infrastructure across the UAE's strategic road network.
