Hyderabad sets uniform Rs 13 per kWh tariff as 200 public charging stations move to private CPO operation

Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO) is handing over operation and maintenance of 200 public EV charging stations in Hyderabad to private Charge Point Operators under 10 year contracts, with a uniform tariff of Rs 13 per kWh. Around 90% of the stations are functional or awaiting commissioning, with the remaining 10% expected to be completed soon. The 200 stations have been divided into six geographically dispersed clusters ranging from 33 to 34 stations each across the Core Urban Region.

Why it matters: The tender structure offers CPOs a decade long concession to operate publicly funded infrastructure at strategic locations, with responsibility for all maintenance, upgrades and statutory approvals. The uniform tariff and cluster model provide operational clarity for bidders evaluating long term revenue potential in one of India's growing EV markets.
