Uttar Pradesh orders land survey for EV charging stations under PM E-Drive Scheme
By Eve
Chief Secretary SP Goyal has instructed all government departments and authorities in Uttar Pradesh to identify and earmark land for public EV charging stations under the Centre's PM E-Drive Scheme. Departments must survey office premises, vacant land and public spaces including government campuses, urban parking areas, industrial estates, logistics parks, development authority land and sites along state highways and expressways, then submit details to UP Renewable and EV Infrastructure Limited (UPREV). Nodal officers will be appointed at state and district levels to coordinate implementation.
Why it matters: The directive opens a pipeline of government controlled sites across India's most populous state, creating procurement opportunities for charge point operators and infrastructure suppliers. Coordinated land allocation through UPREV should accelerate tender pipelines and reduce site acquisition delays for public charging networks.
