VinFast launches Rentapasada EV rental scheme for drivers at Philippine motor show

By Eve

Vietnamese automaker VinFast used the 10th Philippine International Motor Show to unveil its Rentapasada program, which allows drivers to rent electric vehicles for long term use with daily rates starting at P1,000 and operate them on the Green GSM ride hailing platform. The company displayed six EV models across a 240 square metre stand at the World Trade Center in Pasay, alongside its V-Green charging solutions. The scheme is designed to lower entry barriers for drivers seeking income from electric mobility without traditional ownership costs.

Why it matters: The program signals a fleet operator model that could accelerate EV adoption in the Philippines by bundling vehicles, charging access and ride hailing work, creating predictable demand for charging infrastructure. Procurement teams and charge point operators may see new commercial opportunities serving captive fleets with known utilisation patterns rather than relying solely on private consumer uptake.
