Volkswagen ID.Buzz returns for 2027 with Tesla Supercharger access and new camper variant

By Eve

Volkswagen will reintroduce its ID.Buzz electric van for the 2027 model year after skipping 2026, adding a camping oriented Tourer model with window shades and a fold out bed. The updated lineup includes ID.S 6 infotainment software and a NACS to CCS adapter for Tesla Supercharger network access. The 2025 model was priced from $61,545 to $72,540, though 2027 pricing has not been announced.

Why it matters: The inclusion of a NACS adapter signals broader interoperability between VW's electric fleet and Tesla's charging infrastructure, potentially influencing site planning and connector mix decisions for CPOs. The model's return after a sales hiatus may affect demand forecasts for public and destination charging at campsites and tourist locations.
