Walmart opens 100th company-owned EV fast-charging site in Colorado

By Eve

Walmart has reached 100 company-owned and operated EV fast-charging locations across 20 US states, with the milestone site opening at its Monument, Colorado Supercenter. Most sites feature eight to 16 fast-charging connectors delivering up to 400 kilowatts, supporting both CCS and NACS standards. Walmart+ members receive discounted rates, with payment handled through the Walmart app.

Why it matters: The rollout demonstrates how major retailers are building proprietary charging networks at scale, creating a new competitive channel for CPOs and equipment suppliers. Walmart's dual-standard infrastructure and app-based payment model may set procurement expectations for other anchor-tenant deployments.
