Malaysia registered 44,813 electric vehicles in 2025, up 105.7 per cent from 21,789 in 2024, according to an opinion piece by Azanin Ahmad published on September 10. Public charging points rose from around 3,600 at end 2024 to 5,149 by September 30, 2025, a 43 per cent increase, and reached 6,416 by May 31, 2026, split between 2,143 DC and 4,273 AC chargers.
