WiTricity opens Florida R&D facility for autonomous wireless EV charging

US wireless charging firm WiTricity has opened a research and development site in Stuart, Florida, after relocating from Massachusetts. The facility will support customisable medium duty wireless charging solutions spanning 7.2kW to 50kW, plus heavy duty fleet charging above 75kW. WiTricity's magnetic coupling technology enables automated charging for passenger EVs, autonomous vehicles, robotaxis and last mile fleets without human intervention.
Why it matters: The expanded R&D capacity signals growing commercial readiness for wireless charging in fleet and autonomous vehicle segments, where automated charging removes operational friction.
